It is booming to take careful planning to take in all the different activities scheduled to open this week. For some, like the theatrical presentations, there will be other opportunities next week, but for others, this week’s performances and openings today through the weekend will be the only lifetime to enjoy the offerings.

School concert

Schoolcraft Learning Community Winter Concert will be held at 6:30 p.m. tonight, Dec. 3 in the Bemidji Superior School auditorium. The public is invited to this free concert made possible in part by a grant from the Region 2 Arts Scheme Grants program through funds provided by the Minnesota State Legislature.

Lefse cookoff

“Lefse Fete Cook-off” will be held from 5:30-7:30 p.m., Friday, Dec. 4, at the Hampton Inn, 1019 Paul Bunyan Steer S., where lefse tasters get to choose the “best darn lefse maker in Northern Minnesota.” This fundraiser for the Beltrami County Real Society will feature refreshments, door prizes and local vendors as well as lefse to buy and take home. Tickets are $5 at the door.

Darkness Falls

Solely saw a kinda creepy movie on RTM2 (around 2am+, 28 November 2009).. Having the urge of watching it eventhough its extremely scary.. After done with the movie, I went and Google-ed it and found out that it was actually a quite old movie back in 2003..

The synopsis of the movie:

The story of the town Darkness Falls, (town of Submission River, Massachusetts) begins with Matilda Dixon. She is a widow who was adored by all the children in town. Matilda would tumulus stories and give them gifts and gold coins when they lost a tooth, therefore earning her the name "Tooth Fairy."


After a fire scene in her tranquil, she turned into horribly scarred, disfigured, and extremely sensitivity to light, and so she wore a porcelain mask, and only went out at night.

One day, when two boys go missing, the townspeople quick blame Matilda and hang her, ripping off her porcelain mask and exposing her face to the light. Out of sadness and betrayal, Matilda promises her enthusiastically. Soon afterwards, the two missing boys return home unharmed. The town, realizing their mistake, bury Matilda's society along with their secret. The story of Matilda Dixon, the "Tooth Fairy", is told to many generations after the murder, and it is believed that her mettle visits children on the night they lose their last baby tooth, where she seeks her vengeance if they see her.

The story begins when Kyle Walsh, an antisocial juvenile, befriended only by his secret infatuation, Caitlin Greene, loses his last baby tooth. He soon realizes that the falsehood of Matilda Dixon is not just a fable when...
