Armed man in monster mask tries to rob McDonald's Burlington Times News

Burlington guard are looking for a man who attempted to rob a McDonald’s employee late Monday disguised in a monster mask and armed with a handgun.

Monitor were called at about 11:52 p.m. Monday. An employee of the McDonald’s at 3446 S. Church St. told authorities he was approached by a man armed with a handgun in the tush parking lot. The man demanded money, according to a Burlington Police Department news release.

The wage-earner was able to get back into McDonald’s through a back door. He ran through the business and left out the front door.

“The suspect also entered the corporation (through) the rear door and placed a monster-type mask on his head,” the release states. “The suspected produced a handgun and demanded money, however, the employee ran out of the business.”

The suspect left the affair and ran toward St. Mark’s Church Road. Police used dogs to track him but were unable to find him. No one was injured during the fracas.
