JMA Masquerade Ball very successful Jena Times

The Jena Merchants Association held its first fundraiser for The Strand Renovation Project with the JMA Drop off Masquerade Ball on November 21 at the Jena Fair Barn.

The estimated contribution from the JMA’s occurrence to the fund is $8,000, which is estimated from the proceeds of the ball including the matching contribution of an anonymous contributor. A silent auction, which was held during the ball, raised a large amount of money for the project. The auction contained individual items, which were contributed by community members and were bidded upon by ball attendees.

“I believe we have a sizeable provision with the help of the anonymous donor who offered to match our funds from the event,” Evie Talley-Moser, JMA President and put forth event manager for the ball, said. “The JMA has only just begun efforts to help second this worthy project. Thank you to all who gave so willingly of your time and money.”

Masquerade Mask and Cosplay

I was at Joann's Fabrics with Danielle last continuously, and I saw one of those white face masks. Sort of like this:




I decided on impulse to buy it. :D I want to make it into a Masquerade Mask, but I'm not sure what I hunger to do with it yet. Perhaps I'll make the colors Purple and Gold or Purple and Silver. We'll see. ^.^ I'll post the photo when I create it. It might not be for a while though - I still prerequisite paints, ribbons, and stuff to stick on it. :) It'll be fun, though.

I'm super excited to go back to AB! ^.^ It was so much fun last year. It seems like just yesterday Danielle and I were skipping around the convention center as Chibi and Usagi. :P I musing it would take forever to come back, but it's a little more than 3 months away! AHHH! I'm so happy! I'm a teeny bit stressed to finish this gear, but I can do it. :) We're also probably going to wear bunny ears on Sunday and pass out eggs, because AB falls on Easter this year! How adroit. xP

I'mah go see New Moon now. :O Heheh, I know. I'm lame. :)
